From a graphic designer's desk to a sold-out arena.
Adékúnlé Kosoko built the cover before he had the record. A graphic designer in Lagos who taught himself to sing in public by remixing other people's hits, he turned a viral cover into Gold in 2016 — and walked away from the conventional deal almost immediately.
What followed was a refusal to repeat himself: highlife, then alté, then full Afropop, then a symphonic reach, and now the raw percussion of fújì. Each turn looked like risk. Each turn was instinct.
Two billion streams later, nine million people watching, the wagers all read the same way — bet on yourself, own the upside.
He moves on instinct. He always has.
